L'origine de Jean Pierre CONTARINI est inconnue, mais il est d?ec?ed?e ?a Leulinghem, le 18 Ao?ut 1721 et enterr?e dans l' ?eglise pour l'avoir ainsi ordonn?e. Un autre courrier se r?ef?erant ?a La Chesnaye DESBOIS. et donnant la liste des huit CONTARINI, ayant ?et?e ?elus "DOGE" de Venise. L'?epigraphie du canton de Lumbres, dans les pages consacr?ees ?a Leulinghem, dit que les CONTARINI, ?etaient issus des DOGES de Venise de ce nom, et que l'un des derniers repr?esentants habitait Saint Hilaire Cottes. La belle m?ere de Jean Pierre CONTARINI, ?etait Marie Catherine DE DELFT, remontant ?a Jacques DE DELFT, fr?ere de Pierre DE DELFT, bourgeois de Saint Omer n?e vers 1517, fils de Clay DE DELFT, natif de Bruges. Un livre sur l' histoire de Venise, cite que dans la seconde moiti?e du XV ?eme si?ecle, un CONTARINI avait ?et?e adjudicataire d'une gal?ere pour faire du commerce avec les Flandres, et il y avait de nombreux ?echanges commerciaux entre Venise et Bruges, et entre Bruges et Saint Omer. Canonis?e en 1066, et connu sous le nom de Saint Guilhem. Au XIIe si?ecle, sa vie est reprise dans le cycle ?epique connu sous le nom de Roman de Guillaume d'Orange. Base collaborative Pierfit (pierfit ) Guillaume de Gellone, (v.742 - 812), plus tard connu sous le nom de Guillaume d'Orange au XII?e si?ecle. Il est le petit-fils de Charles Martel par sa m?ere Aude (Aida, Aldana ou Adalne), et donc cousin de Charlemagne. Son p?ere est Th?eodoric (ou Thierry I) (v.725 793), Comte d'Autun et descendant des M?erovingiens. Il eut les titres de comte de Toulouse et marquis de Septimanie. Il succ?ede en 790 au comte de Toulouse Corson qui a ?et?e enlev?e par les Basques en 787. Il tient t?ete aux Basques, puis r?esiste aux incursions maures mais il est vaincu en 793 sur lesrives de l'Orbieu pr?es de Narbonne. Apr?es sa mort le 28 mai 812, le couvent re?cut le nom de Saint-Guilhem-du-D?esert Il meurt le 28 mai 812. Il est canonis?e en 1066 et devient alors connu sous le nom de saint Guilhem. Wikipedia : Dans le cadre du royaume d'Aquitaine, attribu?e depuis 781 par Charlemagne ?a son fils Louis, Guillaume devient comte de Toulouse en remplacement de Chorson, enlev?e par des Basques en 7875. Il est d?es lors le principal responsable de la d?efense du royaume d'Aquitaine, face aux Basques et aux musulmans d'Espagne, chass?es de Septimanie seulement vers 750. Il tient t?ete aux Basques, puis r?esiste aux incursions de musulmans d'Espagne. Il subit une d?efaite en 793 pr?es de Narbonne, sur les rives de l'Orbieu, mais sans cons?equences graves. Par la suite, il reprend l'offensive et fait la conqu?ete de territoires au sud des Pyr?en?ees ; il devient comte de la marche d'Espagne constitu?ee autour de G?erone et Urgel. En 801, aux c?ot?es de Louis le Pieux, il est ?a la t?ete de l'arm?ee qui prend Barcelone apr?es un si?ege de plusieurs mois. Les chansons de geste le nomment aussi Guillaume d'Orange, ou Guillaume au Court Nez car il avait eu le bout du nez coup?e par l'?emir Corsolt lors d'un combat sous les murs de Rome ; il eut aussi le surnom de Fierbrace,qui veut dire " Bras vaillant ". Parmi les personnalit?es du royaume d'Aquitaine se trouve un de ses amis d'enfance, Witiza, qui apr?es une carri?ere militaire, fonda vers 784 une abbaye ?a Aniane, sur la rive sud de l'H?erault, adoptant alors le nom de Beno?it. ? son exemple et sur les conseils de saint Beno?it d'Aniane, r?eformateur de l'ordre b?en?edictin, Guillaume d?ecide de fonder un ?etablissement religieux suivant la r?egle de saint Beno?it. Il choisit un lieu assez proche d'Aniane, mais sur la rive nord, le vallon de Gellone, qui faisait ?a l'?epoque partie du dioc?ese de Lod?eve. Apr?es la mort de sa femme, il s'y retire en 806. Il est cens?e y avoir accompli plusieurs miracles dont un est rest?e c?el?ebre : Guillaume aurait eu le pouvoir d'?eloigner le diable. De l'abbaye d'Aniane, saint Beno?it lui envoyait r?eguli?erement des vivres par le seul chemin praticable, n?ecessitant de franchir les gorges de l'H?erault. Chaque fois, le diable effrayait les animaux decharge qui tombaient dans le pr?ecipice. Saint Guillaume, avec l'aide de Dieu, ordonna au diable de rentrer dans son trou et de n'en plus sortir. Ce n'est pas pour cette raison que le pont porte le nom de pont du Diable (ce nom vienten fait d'une l?egende qui n'a rien ?a voir avec saint Guillaume). Dans l'abbaye b?en?edictine de Gellone, appel?ee aujourd'hui Saint-Guilhem-le-D?esert, se trouve encore le reliquaire en argent, en forme de croix, renfermant un morceau de la Sainte Croix que Charlemagnelui avait offert. Il s'y retire en 806 avec un groupe de moines et y meurt vers 814. On 22 Jul 1905, Warren married 20-year old Mattie Mary SHARON. Warren and Mattie had 3 children, 2 daughters and a son. In 1930, the young family lived in Plaquemine, where they rented a house for $6 per month. Warren worked as a laborer in a lumber mill, as so many of the ARBOURs have done. In 1935, Warren and Mattie moved across the country and settled in Vancouver,Washington, where Warren owned and operated Arbour's Grocery in downtown until the late 1950s. On 06 Jan 1988, Warren died in Portland, Oregon, and was buried in St James Acres in Vancouver. Mattie followed him there when she died on 02 Dec 1997. She was the mother of Autumn Lynn Arbour and great-granddaughter of Natalie Guercia of Warwick. Justin, a laborer, is the son of Paul A.Arbour of Warwick and the late Marguerite A. (Doyle) Arbour, he lived in Warwick for the past five years. He was employed by Meade Construction Company, Barrington, for the past year. He enjoyed cooking. Besides his father he leaves his daughter, Autumn Lynn Arbour; three brothers, Gregory P. Arbour of Warren, Robert Robberson of North Kingstown and Patrick J. Robberson of East Providence; and a sister, Lila Rose Arbour of Warwick. The funerals was held from W. Raymond Watson Funeral Home, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St Brendan Church, Turner Ave., Riverside. Burial was in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Before moving to Welland, Doug was very active in the Port Robinson community. He was involved in the scouting movement for many years and was a member of the Port Robinson Fire Service since its inception. He served as the Port Robinson Fire Chief for nine years. Predeceasedby her beloved husband Wilfred (Naz) in 1991, granddaughter Rebecca (1973), and son-in-law Bill (2010), brothers and sisters Carl, George, Peter, Dorothy Hand, Mike, Robert, Dora, Ryan, Malcolm, and Jack. Loving mother of Fred (Eleanor), Gerry (Patti), Joe(Edith), Tim (Laura), and Lori Ivankovich. Cherished grandmother of 9 grandchildren,5 great grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews. Alice was a longtime resident of Port Robinson, being actively involved at The Immaculate Conception Church, CWL and the Port Robinson Firefighter's Ladies Auxiliary.
