Notes - * Medical Information:He suffered from heart problems for about 3 months before his death. His dropsy was brought about by heart failure.
* Note:Louis and Sidonie added 13 children to their family, four daughters and nine sons, all of whom were born in Joliette County. While their first child was born in Joliette City in 1859, by the year 1870, the family was part of the brandnew St-Emelie-de-l'Energie Parish located further north in Joliette County. In 1871, Louis was a farmer in St-Emelie-de-l'Energie, along with many of his brothers. The family was still living there in 1881. Louis and Sidonie also became the godparents of four children while living in St-Emelie-de-l'Energie: niece Emelie HOULEin May 1877, nephew Martial ARBOUR in August 1879, niece Albina LASALLE in October 1881, and grandson Joseph RIVET in January 1886.
From the 1860s through the 1880s, Louis saw his siblings slowly leave Joliette County in search of better opportunities elsewhere. Younger sister Zoe and her family migrated to Ontario in about 1867.Younger brother Xavier and his family, along withyounger brother Basile, migrated to Ontario in about 1868. Lastly, younger brother Magloire followed them in about 1883.
Sometime thereafter, this branch of the ARBOUR family made the big moveto the Province of Ontario and settled in Simcoe County. The exact date of their move has yet to be determined, although it wasmost likely around spring 1886. In January1886, Louis and Sidonie served as godparents to their grandson in St-Emelie-de-l'Energie. Their next appearance was in Midland, Ontario, as godparents for their niece Mary Louise ARBOURin July 1886.
Once in Ontario, Louis and Sidonie settled in Waubaushene to begin employment with the Georgian Bay Lumber Company. They then served as godparents to several additional family youngsters: great-nephew Alphonse JEAN in June 1887, granddaughter MariaAva ARBOUR in January 1892, and grandson Armos ARBOUR in January 1895, all baptised in Midland.
In 1890, Louis was a tenant farmer on Concession 10, Lot 10, in Waubaushene. The 1891 Census also shows them living in Waubaushene.
Soon after Sidonie's death, Louis appears to have abandoned his farmingefforts and moved into town. By April 1901, widowed and living with his three youngest sons, Louis owned a four-room house withan outbuildingon ¼ acre of Concession 10,Lot 10,C'est ave?e acusaole?ees18 Rivitab» «tab»in the town of Waubaushene. He earned $275 that year at the mill. By May 1911, Louis and son Alexander lived with daughter Elide and family.

Bio from Facebook on 11 April 2010:
11 April 1832 -- Louis-Edmund ARBOUR was one of the children of Jean-Baptiste ARBOUR and Marie-Emelie DORVAL -- our magnificent couple who were parents to 20 children. Born in Joliette City, QC, Louis was the 4th child and 2nd son of Jean-Baptiste and Emelie's brood. Like many generations of ARBOURs before him, Louis became a farmer. The 26-year old farmer married 17-year old Sidonie ETHIER on 07March 1859, in Joliette City. Louis and Sidonie added 13 children to their family, 4daughters and9sons, all of whom were born in Joliette County. Louis and Sidonie can claim 61 grandchildren and a staggering 141 great-grandchildren! Who volunteers to count the next generation?
