Notes - The church record says Isaïe-Avila drowned in the Rivière des Mille-Îles, which flows just north of Laval (the river is the city limits). Ste-Thérèse being a few miles north from the river, we cannot say he died in Ste-Thérèse.
"Ce premier août mil huit cent quatre vingt sept, nous prêtre soussignéavons inhumé dans le cimetière de cette paroisse le corps de Isaïe Avila noyé avant hier au soir dans la rivière des Mille-Îles agé de vingt ans huit mois et seize jours, fils ré recsaole?ees18 Rivitab» «tab»légitime de défunt Jean-Baptiste Arbour et de Élisabeth Filion de cette paroisse. Présents Éphrem Gravel et Pierre Filion qui n'ont pu signer. Lecture faite."
"On this first of August 1887, I undersigned priest, have interred in this parish's cemetery the body of Isaïe Avila who drowned in the evening of the day before yesterday in the Rivière des Mille-Îles, at the ageof twenty years and eight months a,fils ré recsaole?ees18 Rivitab» «tab»nd sixteen days, son of the late Jean-Baptiste Arbour and Élisabeth Filion of this parish. Attending were Éphrem Gravel and Pierre Filion who could not sign. Reading done."
