- On 3 Nov 1941, Gilbert travelled to the US via the port of Cleveland, OH, as a seaman aboard the SS Outard.

ARBOUR, Gilbert -- Passed away with his family by his side on Sunday, 25 March 2007 at the age of 83. Predeceased by his wife Elaine. He will be sadly missed by his children Brian (Heather), Sharon, Ken (Susan), Debbie (Dennis) and Dave. Proud grandfather of seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Friends may call the Jerrett Funeral Home, 660 Kennedy Rd. (between St. Clair and Eglinton Aves. E.) on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 1 pm at St Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 3216 Lawrence Ave. E. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society and Heart and Stroke Foundation.

I hope you find comfort knowing that your extended family is thinking about you. Your father was a kind man. I often thought about how well hedid raising all of you after you lost your mother. Over the years I frequently ran into Gib grocery shopping. He was always out early when the store opened. We would stop and talk for a while and he was always sointerested in how my family and my brothersand sisters families were doing. He was a lovely man and he will be missed by all who knew him.

So sorry to hear of Uncle Gibs passing. At least he won't have to suffer anymore. Try and keep good memories close to your heart.
