Notes - Little Edmond was only about two-years old when his family moved to Ontario. As a young man, Edmond was a prominent figure skater. At the age of 19, he served as godfather to niece Amanda BOURDON in Midland in November 1885. After their wedding, Edmond and Alcuine settled in Waubaushene, where their first four children were born. In the 1891 Census, theyoung family was living in Tay Township. By1901, they were living in afour-room house on ¼ acre of Concession 10, Lot 10, in Waubaushene. Eeriel: coee Le ssaole?ees18 Rivitab» «tab»dmond earned $300 that year atthe mill. Later that year, the sawyer and his family moved to Midland.During the latter years of his life, Edmond also held a position on theSeparate School Board, which governs Catholic and otherprivate schools. Edmond and Alcuine had seven children altogether, two daughters and five sons. They also served as godparents in several family baptism ceremonies at St Margaret's in Midland: nephew Albert Treffle BOURDON in December 1899, cousin's daughter Azeline ARBOUR in May 1901, nephew Norman ARBOUR in August 1902, cousin's daughter Mary Alcime ARBOUR in April 1904, niece Blanche ARBOUR in September 1905, and cousin's son Howard GREGOIRE in August 1908.

23 April 1866 -- Born in Joliette County, QC, and baptized at St-Jean-de-Matha, QC, Edmond ARBOUR was the 3rd of 13 children of lumber worker Francois-Xavier ARBOUR and his wife Nathalie DESMARAIS. Little Edmond was only about 2-years old when his family moved to Ontario. As a young man, Edmond was a prominent figure skater. Just days after his 23rd birthday, Edmond married 16-year old Marie-Alcuine LeBLANC on 29 April 1889 in Waubaushene, Ontario. After their wedding, Edmond and Alcuine settled in Waubaushene, where their first 4 children were born. In the 1891Census, the young family livedin Tay Township. By 1901, they were living in a 4-room house on ¼ acre of Concession 10, Lot 10, in Waubaushene. Edmond earned$300 that year at teriel: coee Le ssaole?ees18 Rivitab» «tab»he mill. Later that year, the sawyer and his family moved to Midland. Edmond and Alcuine had 7 children altogether, 2 daughters and 5 sons. During the latter years of his life, Edmond also held a position onthe Separate School Board, which governsCatholic and other private schools. At the age of 79, Edmond passed away in Midland, Ontario, on 16 September 1945. Alcuine died about 7 years later at the age of 80. Both were buried in St Margaret's Catholic Cemetery in Midland. Edmond and Alcuine are responsible for 24 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and20 great-great-grandchildren.
