Notes - When Emil was an infant, a local newspaper published that he was the largest child in North America. Reportedly it was not because he was fat but because he was stocky and barrel-chested.
Emil and Cecilia had ten children. All of them were born in the United States, save Victor, who was born in Ontario and held dual citizenship.Emil and Cecilia eventually became naturalized United States Citizens.At some point, Emil was also attached to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police as a translator. Through this connection, Emil met Gilbert BOYCE, who eventually married Emil's sister Lucy. According to his daughter Linda, Emil was the great family storyteller. He kept the past alive foreveryone.
In 1940, Emil reported that he had earned $1,400 in 1939. According to the Census of that year, Emil was born in New York state.
Upon entering the US at Detroit, MI, on 16 Dec 1941, he reported himself as 5'10" with a dark complexion, dark brown hair, and brown eyes, as well as having a scar on the index finger of his left hand. He had previously been in MI from May 1928 to Dec 1938. He also reported his birthdate as 26 Mar 1911. He had $20 in his pocket.
Apparently, Emil became a citizen after Dec 1941, as he still held a British passport at that time.
According to his Naturalization papers, Emil was born on 26 Mar 1911.

26 March 1908 -- Born in Brennan Harbour, Ontario, Emil Anthony ARBOUR was the 3rd of 6 children of lumberjack Joseph-William-Edward ARBOUR and his 3rd wife Marie-Clara-"Florence" GUERTIN. When Emil was an infant,a local newspaper publishedthat hewas the largest child in North America. Reportedly it was not because he was fat but because he was stocky and barrel-chested. In about 1933, Emil married 17-year old Cecilia Lucy GUERTIN at Old City Hall in Detroit, MI. According toagranddaughter,their marriage was revalidated in the Catholic Church during the late 1930s or early 1940s. Emil and Cecilia had 10 children, 3 daughters and 7sons. All of them were born in the United States, save Victor, who wasborn in Ontario and held dual citizenship. Upon entering the US at Detroit on 16 December 1941, Emil reported himself as 5'10" with a dark complexion, dark brown hair, and brown eyes, as well as having a scar on the index finger of his left hand. Sometime thereafter Cecilia married Clyde STINEHART. She died in Bay City, MI, on 17 February 2008, having been responsible for 10 children, 22 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
