  The Daily Gazette (Schenectady, NY) -- Thursday 09 Oct 2008 Death Notice Rotterdam -- Ruth E. Arbour, 95, of Rotterdam, died Sunday evening, 5 October 2008, at Kingsway Arms Nursing Home. Born and educated in Schenectady, Ruth worked for the General Electric Company in the payroll department for over 25 years before herretirement. Ruth was a member of the Quarter Century Club of the GE. She was an artist and avid traveler, enjoyed playing the organ, making greeting cards on the computer, knitting, and crochet. Ruth was predeceased in 1996 by her husband of 65 years, Leopold Arbour; and was also predeceased by her son, Ronald Arbour.She is survived by her daughters, Ruth Menia (Ronald) and Dolores Fonda (late Donald), both of Rotterdam; a daughter-in-law, Gerlinde Arbour of Rotterdam; a brother, Earl Johnson (Clare) of Oregon; a sister, Betty Preston of Glens Falls; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Saturday, 11 October 2008, at noon at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave., Schenectady, NY.Interment will be private in Schenectady Memorial Park.
