From Joan SCHMUT <jschmut a hotmail.com> on 09 Mar 2006: Ernest Arbour is the stepchild from Maurice's second marriage. My dad's mom died in 1930,then his dad remarried to Ernest's mom. Ernest and Laura had three kids, one natural daughter and then they adopted twin boys. The daughter is Sandra who married Lawrence Swain. They had four kids, most of them live in Espanola. The twin boys are Ronald and Donald. [Note: Joan's father is a brother to Laura LAJEUNESSE.]
Regarding Ernest's mother, from Joan SCHMUT on 27 Jul2007: Well, as faras the brother Paul goes, he left home at a young age to go live in Toronto. No one seems to know what the mom's name is. . . I wish my father was still alive because I'm sure Icould learn more. I'm curious to learn this too. I'm curious to learn where she comes from. I've heard that maybe she could have been a war bride but this is only speculation.
From Joan SCHMUT via email on 12 May 2008: What I remember of Ernest Arbour is that he and Laura lived with herfather (Maurice) all the time. She kept house for them. This was when they moved into town. I guess they had it withfarming. They only had one girl and adopted twin boys. Ernest smoked a pipe and had a gruff voice.
