ARBOUR, Douglas -- Peacefully at the Welland Hospital on Monday, 14 June 2004, at the age of 78. He passed away one day shy of the 58th anniversary of his wedding to Virginia (Green). Dearly loved father of Tom Arbour (Adele) and Trent Arbour. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Melinda (Ryan), Katie, Craig, Gerald and Gregory. Dear brother of Loretta Watson (Bob) and Theresa Glowa (Peter). Brother-in-law of Thelma, Mabel, and Alice Arbour. He was predeceased by his sisters Mae Jalbert and AnnMcIntosh, brothers Herbert, Alphage and Wilfred Arbour, sister-in-law Marge Arbour and brothers-in-lawWilson Jalbert and Ray McIntosh. Before moving to Welland, Doug was very active in the Port Robinson community. He was involved in the scouting movement for many years and was a member of the Port Robinson Fire Service since its inception. He served as the Port Robinson Fire Chief for nine years. Friends may call at J.J. Patterson & Sons Funeral Residence, 19 Young Street, Welland on Wednesdayfrom 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A memorial mass will be celebrated at St. Andrew the Apostle Roman Catholic Church on Thursday at 10:30 am. Private family Rite of Committal at Doan's Ridge Road Cemetery at a latertime. Flowers gratefully declined.
