Notes - When Evelyn was just a teenager, she went to live in Toronto. Perhaps her older sister Doris was already living there and she decided to come, too. In any event, when Evelyn was 17-years old, she gave birth to a baby girl out of wedlock. In fact, the father's name was not even mentioned; perhaps it was not even known. Less than two months later, baby Beth died. The cause of death was listed as congenital syphillis, meaningEvelyn had syphilis and gave it to her baby. At the timeof baby Beth'sdeath, Evelyn lived at 341 Jarvis Street in Toronto. Jarvis Street wasreportedly known for many years as being the red light district. Perhaps this is the life young Evelyn lived. Perhaps this is how she contracted syphillis and how she became pregnant with little Beth.
According to Marilyn (ARBOUR) GOUETT, it is thought that Evelyn and Kenhad no children together.
