  Military US Navy - WWII Begining in 1942, Fernand owned The Sandwich Shop in partner with Manuel Costa. The eatery was located at 156 Broadway in Newport, RI. __ After his death, Chester Williams of the local Division of Soldiers' Welfare, 40 Fountain St, Room 811, Providence, RI, ordered his flat granite gravemarker from the H E Fletcher Company, West Chelmsford, MA, in May 1958.
