  According to her immigration papers, Ethel reported herself as having been born in Clark's Hill, which is located in Lennox & Addington Co, ON. Ethel's parents were from Switzerland and Germany and spoke German or were from Switzerland and Guernsey and spoke German and English.[1920,1930Census] Upon her entry into the US at Niagara Falls, NY, on 16 Oct 1908, 13-year old Ethel and herfather Alexander MAURER were headed for Milford, DE.She was noted as 5' with a fair complexion, brown hair, and blue eyes. Upon her entry into the US at Niagara Falls, NY, on 05 Sep 1912, 17-year old Ethel intended to stay with her father AlexanderMAURER in Milford, DE.
