  Damase Lebon was 25 years old when his son, Louis Francois Athanase Lebon, was born. Madeleine,the mother, was 30 years old.According to research done in France by Jean Buon at the archives in Arras, he was unable to find any children before 1832 or the marriage of the parents.Two remarks that he made in reference to Damase and Madeleine:(1) Damase isa rare first name. At first he thought Damas, the capital of Syria, but he checked and found that Damase is a real christian name.(2) He said he was surprised that the only name of the mother is Madeleine and it was the first time that he had seen that. He said that he suspected that she was an abandoned baby of unknown parents. It was the custom in France to give abandoned babies a christian name as a surname, but usually there is a second Christian name as a first name. Her last name, Madeleine, is a Christian name, but she has no first name.Damase was a shoemaker.Copies ofdeath records of BaptisteLebon and Rose Macquet were sent by email from France.Death record for Damase Lebon names his parents as Francoise Lebon and Claudine Fontaine. Hername is Marie Claudine Fontaine.
