Passed away in Midland, on Tuesday, 1 November 1994, Bertha Malcolm, wife of the late George Malcolm. Dear mother of Don Malcolm of Orillia, Marion (Mrs. Reg Tyo) of Ottawa, Ted Malcolm of Saskatoon,and Carol Anne(Mrs. John Kinsey) of Milton. Lovingly remembered by her 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Dear sister of Syd Arbour of Tecumseh. Visitation was held at the Chatterson-Long Funeral Home, 404 Hurontario Street, Collingwood, then to St Mary's Roman Catholic Church for Funeral Mass on Saturday, 5 November 1994, at 11 am. GEORGE MALCOLM
A former marine engineer and master steam-fitter in the Collingwood Shipyards for more than a quarter century, died suddenly at his Napier St home in his 67th year. George Malcolm was born in Victoria Harbour in 1905, one of 11 children of the lateMr. and Mrs. John Malcolm. For a number of years he sailed with ships on the Great Lakes as a marine engineer, until joing the steam-fitting department of the Collingwood Shipyards 30 years ago. He was a member of the company's quarter-century club.A member of St Mary's Roman Catholic Church and the Holy Name Soceity,he was an ardent sportsman and rarely missed a hockey or ball game in Collingwood.
He is survived by this wife, the former Bertha Arbour; two daughters: Marion, Mrs. Reg Tyo of Ottawa, and Carol, Mrs. John Kinsey of Milton; two sons, Donald of Toronto and Ted of Burlington; one brother, Frank ofCollingwood; four sisters, Millie,Mrs. Tom Gourlay of Toronto, Marion,Mrs. Dave Evans of Toronto, Grace, Mrs. Bruce Winfield of St Thomas, and Maude, Mrs. Clare Morris of Islington. Also surviving are three grandchildren. He was predeceased by five brothers.
