Notes - In about 1914, Wilfred moved to New Hampshire and married later that year in Dover, Strafford County, NH. He registered for the draft during WWI while living in Stratford County. The family lived in Dover from 1917 through 1941. They seem tohave left that community by 1943, by 1948, they lived in Biddeford, Maine, where they continued to live through atleast 1951. Wilfred died sometime between 1951 and 1956.
According to his WWI Draft Registration, Wilfred was of medium height and medium build with brown eyes and black hair.

16 Feb 1891 -- Joseph-Wilfred ARBOUR was another of our young men out of Joliette, QC. He was the 4th of 9 children born to Ours ARBOUR and Zephirina GRENIER. In 1914, while still single, Wilfred decided to investhis future in the US, moving to NewHampshire where the textile trade was the major industry. Shortly after his arrival, he met and married Odeline GRENIER, who was a native of Dover, NH. Wilfred registered for the draft during WWI while living in Stratford County, NH,and was foundtobe medium height and medium build with brown eyes and black hair. Thefamily lived in Dover from 1917 through 1941. During this time they became parents to 6 children, while both working at the cotton mills: Odeline as a spinner and Wilfred workinghis way up from carder to foreman. In 1941, Wilfred seems to have served a short stint in the Army. Afterward, the family left Dover; by 1948, they lived in Biddeford, Maine, where they continued to live through at least 1951. Wilfred worked asa fixer at Bates Manufacturing, the largest employer in the area. He diedsometime between 1951 and 1956. After his death, Odeline seems to havereturned to her home in Dover, where she passed away on 29 Nov 1976.
