FromDenis ARBOUR via email on22Oct 2008:
According to the obit, Paméla is a daughter of Georgina and Michel ARBOUR. I think her parents could be Michel ARBOUR and Marie-Georgiana ARBOUR. According to you, Paméla could be a dau of Joseph ARBOUR and LudivineAUBÉ. This is disturbing given the fact that Michel and Joseph ARBOUR are brothers . . . I now believe there is only one Philias LECLERC. But who are Paméla's parents? I found Philiasand Paméla's (Yvonne) marriage in a churchrepertoire. Have you seen the actual church record? Perhaps some names were mixed up either in the church record or in the repertoire. Seeing the actual churchcordsure would help. Another theory (I don'tlike it): There are two different PamélaARBOURs. Philias married the first one and then married the second after the first one died. . .
From Denis ARBOUR via email on 28 Oct 2008: No, the priest was not confused. And, yes,the marriage record is probably correct and the obit isprobably wrong. Here's an explanation: Paméla's mother died less than a month after Paméla's birth and Joseph's brother (Michel) and his wife (Georgiana) took care of her.Paméla was only 19 (a "minor") when her father died in 1933. Even though Michel and Georgianaprobably adopted her, six years later, when she married Philias LECLERC, everyone knew who her real parents were. At the time of her death, almost 70 years later and far away from the Bellechasse area, nowonderthere's some confusion about Paméla's parents in the obit. Agreed? A bonus: The marriage record shows that Philias LECLER had been previously married to a woman by the name of Lumina (aka Joséphine) FOURNIER. According to the BSQ, they were married on 20 Nov 1931 (locationunknown). Lumina FOURNIER died 29 Aug 1938 in Quebec City.
--> Note: The LECLERC-FOURNIER marriage took place at StRochIn Quebec City, QC.
