Peacefully at home, surrounded by family on Saturday, March 29, 2014 atthe age of 73. Survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Ira Saunders, daughters Debbie, Christine (Greg) and Jennifer (John)and her four special grandchildren; Danielle, Caitlin, Tyler and Jayden. Also survived by her sisters Lisette and Lauraine, and her brother Robert. Predeceased by her parents Marie and Omer Arbour and her brother Roland. She also leaves behind several brothers-in-law, sisters-in law, nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Friends and family are invited to visit at Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services, 280 Beechwood Avenue (East of Vanier Parkway), Ottawa on Wednesday, April 2 from 1pm until time of Memorial Service in the Sacred Space at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

On behalf of the family I would like to take a minute and thank all of those who are here today and all of those who could not be here in person but who are with us in their hearts. The service was beautiful and Iespecially would like to thank AuntLisette, Aunt Dorene, Josee, Julieand Garth for making this memorial so special. Mom would have loved to see each and every one of you here and I am sure she would wonder what all the fuss is about. For mom it was always about putting everyoneelse first (especially those spoiled grand kids!!)! I hope you can all stay to join us at the reception to say hello and to share some memories with us. If I can make it through, I will leave you with this final poem.

You can shed tears that she is gone
or you can smile because she has lived

You can close your eyes and pray that she'll come back
Or you can open your eyes and see all she's left

Your heart can be empty because you can't see her
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.

You can remember her and only that she's gone
or you can cherish her memory and let it live on

You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back
or you can do what she'd want:
      smile,
      open your eyes,
      love
      and go on.
