A SURPRISE PARTY
A pleasant surprise was given at the home of Miss Vivian Arbour, 90 East Front Street, Friday evening. Games and music made the evening enjoyable. Those present were Miss Alfreda Davis, Jessie Schroder, Josie Scott, Ida Wood, Princess Betzler, Margaret Schultz, Maggie McLeod, Elnora Davis, Messrs. Robert Ledigate, Frank Denkin, Wallace Barren, Jimmie Reynolds, Aubrey Osler, John Griffiths, Corby Estey, Will Yutz, Tom Yutz,Robert Betzler, Lee Hawksworth, Archie Hawksworth, Arthur McLeod, Dennis Corrison.
On 12 Sep 1918, Vivian and Ivan were apparently still married, as Mrs. Vivian Binns was recorded as Ivan's next of kin on his WWI Draft Registration, living at 604 Eland St, Anaconda, MT.
Vivian sailed on the "Queen Mary" into New York, NY, arriving on 09 Nov1945, returning from war as a "High Score Casual" headed for the Separation Center in DesMoines, IA. She had achieved the rank of CPL and reported her name as Vivian B. Arbour.

For the pleasure of Mr. and Mrs. Bessemer J. Lawrence, a group of theirfriends surprised them with a party Saturday at their home, 1825 Schley Street. Group singing was enjoyed wiht Mrs. Harvey Horton accompanying on the piano. Mr. Lawrencewas presented with a gift, and midnight supper was served to the following: Mr. and Mrs. Al Hulversen, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Horton, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Judd,Mr. and Mrs. Herman Dallman,Mr. and Mrs. Warren Dorville, Mr. and Mrs. James Hoida,Mr. and Mrs. Earl Claridge, Mr. and Mrs. George Laun, Mr. and Mrs. Dan O'Connell. Mr. and Mrs. Clayton McDonald, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hausehildt, Mr. and Mrs. Laurel Butler, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Hoida, Mrs. Constance Estabrook, Mrs. Marion Bolitho,Mrs. Esther Murphy,and Douglas Estabrook.

12 Feb 1894 -- Vivian Grace ARBOUR, the youngest child of Fred ARBOUR and Ida TERRY, was born along the western frontier in Glendale, Montana.In about 1912 she married Ivan Derry BINNS and gave birth in 1915 to their daughter Ida E. BINNS. Their marriage seems to have soured some time after this, as they eventually divorced. Vivian married Bessemer John LAWRENCE - known as BJ - on 09 Feb 1926 inDeer Lodge, MT. They had nochildren together. BJ worked variously as a railroad firefighter, as ateamster, and as a butcher. During WWII, Vivian served as a WAC. At the end of the war, Corporal Vivian sailed on the "Queen Mary" into New York Harbor, arriving on 09 Nov 1945. She returned from war as a "High Score Casual" and headed for the Separation Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Vivian died in Silver Bow County, MT, on 22 May 1976 at the age of 84. BJ died less than 4 years later.

Lawrence -- Mrs. Vivian G. Lawrence of the Legion Oasis passed away Saturday morning in a local nursing home. Her remains are in Wayrynen-Richards Funeral Home where Rev Michael Chilton will conduct services Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock.Entombment in Mountain view Cemetery Mausoleum.
Attention: Silver Leaf Rebecca Lodge 10 - All officers and members are requested to assemble at Wayrynen-Richards Funeral Home this Sunday evening at 7:30 to participate in ritualistic services for Vivian G. Lawrence.
